Okay...I admit it I don't own an IPOD or MP3 player. I have never tried one and am not sure that I'm willing to take that step yet. I just got a car that has a cd-player in it so I'm in 7th heaven with that currently. I think I would most likely want to use an mp3 player for audio books and music while working out. Yeah, that's my story and perhaps what I need to motivate me to take that next step---exercising regularly with something to take my mind off the fact that I'm exercising regularly. :-)
I do have concerns about hearing loss and use of mp3 players since just about everyone I see using one under age 25 has then turned up sooooooooooo loud the sound is bleeding out and makes me wonder what effect long term that will have on mp3 users? Hmmmmmmmmm

Red Ruby Slippers and Flickr
Okay, for those of you that know me...you know that I have a HUGE Wizard of Oz collection that at times has taken on a life of it's own. In doing my FLICKR assigment I was very jazzed to see some wonderful WOZ inspired pics. I just love, love, love this one for example:

Come on' what girl hasn't dreamed about having her own pair of red ruby slippers? I just bought a new car in Tango Red which has a striking similarity to Red Ruby Slippers "Red"...a happy act makes my heart sing everytime I see it parked outside.

Blank Pages
There is something special about a blank page. The rush of the beginnings of a new school year come to mind with all those spiral notebooks that are yet to be filled by the end of the semester. The waiting for the creative muse when starting a new journal of your thoughts, hopes, dreams and daily ramblings. The writer's block that can come with the blank page.
And in this case, the creative spark that comes when combining technology and work assignments to explore the cyber-world and all that it has to offer. While someone that really enjoys the written word I am looking forward to my second attempt at blogging. The first attempt was more private and personal. This attempt is while part of a work assignment for Learning 2.0 journey it is more formal in the sense I have control over the layout, settings and to some degree within reason my postings.
The 7 1/12 steps for Life Long Learners is for me an example of my professional life in general and also how I live my personal life. The easiest for me is the "mentoring of others"--that is what I like most about my library job--sharing what I learn with others and seeing that "spark" when someone "gets it". My co-workers frequently tease me with "WWJD" aka "What would Jeanette do" in situations and circumstances that I handle with ease. I find that a strong compliment. Also knowing that I'm thought of as the "answer lady" to a wide variety of things that especially revolve around my memory skills. The hardest is "viewing problems as challenges"...sometimes it is so easy to get bogged down in the problem that you truly do lose sight of the "end game" and what you can take forward from problem-solving.
